Metal Gear Solid Mobile is a 2008 remake of Konami's landmark stealth-action game, designed for play on cell phones. The game uses full 3D graphics, pre-determined camera-angle settings, and integrated cut-scenes to provide a smooth, detailed visual experience that can rival that of the 1998 PlayStation original when played on a contemporarily capable mobile device. From a third-person perspective, players take the role of a lone, mercenary commando known as Solid Snake, whose mission is to infiltrate a secret weapons facility, rescue hostages, and destroy dangerous technology. In addition to the tense sneaking, stalking, and quiet, quick kills familiar to fans of the series, the mobile edition of Metal Gear Solid can make use of cell phone features not available on other game systems. Players can use their mobile device's built-in camera to take a picture that captures a sample color from the real world around them, and then use that color to camouflage Solid Snake in the game. ~ T.J.
