DESCRIPTION
The Blue Bomber gears up for a Nintendo 64 release in Mega Man 64. This game is basically a straight port of the PlayStation game Mega Man Legends. While this newer version makes use of the N64's bright palettes, rich graphics, and Rumble-Pak vibration-feedback support, the gameplay in Mega Man 64 is very similar to that in the original Mega Man Legends. The camera follows the hero from a third-person perspective as he leaps and blasts his way past nasty robotic enemies and intricate 3D jumping puzzles. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“Alright. I've got a little spare time tonight and figured I'd dedicate it to a review. With so many choices to pick from, I decided to go with this little gem. This is the same game as Mega Man Legends for the PlayStation, but because N64 had that whole naming gimmick where everything ended with 64 (like Mario Kart 64) the title was changed. Anyway, both versions were great. Keep in mind this was back when games didn't have a huge graphical difference so Nintendo still competed on par with Sony on graphics. The game basically takes Megaman and makes it as close to an rpg as it can get. I should say an action rpg because it is deffinitely not turn-based. It's got all of th stuff people love about megaman: giant robot fights, charging blasts, stealing weapons from enemies, but it's made about a hundred times more realistic, given a backstory, and put in an open world full of in-depth characters, side quests, and secret collectables. Oh, and did I mention it's in 3D? This game is like megaman meats Ocarina of Time, and I honestly mean to suggest that it mixes the qualities of both. It's not one of the longest games you'll play, and you can beat it in a weekend, but it's worth it. Great, great game. As a side note, terrible voicovers.”
