DESCRIPTION

The setting is San Francisco in the year 2033. You are Tex Murphy, a private investigator who has just been hired by Sylvia Linsky to look into the death of her father. Sylvia's father, Professor Carl Linsky, is presumed to have committed suicide by jumping off of the Golden Gate Bridge. Your job is to determine if his death was in fact a suicide or if someone murdered him.

Mean Streets allows you to travel to particular destinations via your speeder, which is a flying car. While in your speeder you can use a video phone to call your secretary, Vanessa, or your informant, Lee Chin. At various destinations Tex can search rooms, question witnesses and suspects, or take part in a gun battle. Gun battles take place when you decide to take a break from your case and go bounty hunting in order to gain some extra cash.

When talking with people a window pops up in the middle of the screen where you view digitized video of the character's face. Searching rooms is done from a third-person perspective.
