DESCRIPTION

The well-deserved love affair with hero rescue workers continues in ImaginEngine Corp.'s Matchbox Cross Town Heroes, as children five and up race to disaster scenes in six different Matchbox vehicles. Kids begin with a Fire Crusher, Police Car, and Armored Police Truck in three mission-based worlds, Circusville, Zooland, and Metropolis respectively. After collecting five awards in each location, players can return to the main garage and pick up three bonus vehicles including an Airport Fire Pumper, Police SUV, and Battering Ram, as well as an advancement in rank.

The three worlds each contain two basic missions, four mini-games, and one final mission. Vehicles are controlled with the keyboard or mouse and onscreen arrows help lead the way to mission goals. The mini-games in each world feature racing, arcade, puzzle, and round-up rescue themes where you can earn badges as well as awards. Exiting the game creates an automatic save, and certificates can be printed from the Certificate Screen where mission progress and tasks are tracked. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
