DESCRIPTION

Mass Effect 2 is a role-playing game with an outer space, science fiction setting and action-oriented, third-person shooter play. The game is released as the second in a planned a trilogy from BioWare, designed for Xbox 360 and Windows-based home computers. Players resume the role of Commander Shepard, the customizable protagonist of the first game, choosing the hero's gender, appearance, skills, and abilities to match personal preferences and playing styles. Combat is squad-based, as in the original game, and players may choose their teammates from a roster of stealthy assassins, superhumanly strong warriors, and brilliant masters of mystical powers. The game's main quest is seen as a suicide mission, so assembling a team that is not only able but also willing to follow Shepard into the dangerous unknown of deep space remains a role-playing challenge throughout the adventure.

Mass Effect 2's continuing story involves the appearance of a race of insect-like humanoids, which appears to have been abducting entire colonies of humans from the fringes of known space. To investigate this new threat, Shepard works in league with the ruthless Cerberus organization, a powerful and secretive group whose only morality is the survival of the human species, at any cost. Although anyone is free to create a new character and make a fresh start in the game, players who completed the original Mass Effect may use save files to continue their adventures in the sequel, using the same customized version of the hero they lead through the first game. Similarly, the outcome of the final mission of Mass Effect 2 may influence players' options as they begin the final game in the trilogy, whether Shepard remains to lead another mission against all odds, or is remembered as a brave warrior who made the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of all humanity. ~ T.J. “Neither Paragon or Renegade was high enough. I should've caught a clue when I ran into that during Samara's loyalty mission. Maybe because I was flying through the game? That or the par/ren split was a little too even. The only options it left me were to honor Tali's wishes or not.”

“Oh yeah, ME2's charm/intimidate system was based on how much of each you have done so if you have done 50 out of 1000 charms you get options. It encouraged pure renegade/paragon that system as there was no balance.

And if you talk to all the Quarians before going to clear out the Geth infested ship, you should have an option to incite the crowd to help Tali without evidence or para/rene points”

“I wanted to replay ME:2 for the sole purpose of starting ME:3 again, so I just ran with the normal difficulty. That was a mistake, I think, since I often forget that I'm even carrying a heavy weapon - powers and pistol kill everything at this difficulty :P”

I personally ran Legion and Garus as a soldier, turns out that Two Widows + Armour Pen Ammo is overkill :P

Its really basing it around your playstyle and any bonus abilities you might have.

For instance a soldier may take Reave for the heal, or Geth Shield Boost / Barrier for the extra buff to shields (Don't take Fortification, it doesn't benefit from Tech/Barrier research)”

“From memory Mordin wasn't that great in combat since had Cyro Blast which only got really useful in ME3.

“Yep, what @Reiaze said. Max out Incinerate (area effect for me), then use it to bring the pain to a group of non-shielded baddies. Good stuff.

And maxing out Reave & Tech Armor as a sentinel is awesome. It's almost impossible to die :) ”
