DESCRIPTION
Mario Party 8 invites groups of players to perform such tasks as shaking up cola cans or rowing a boat through white rapids as they navigate a virtual board game. Up to eight players must use the Wii-Remote and Nunchuk to complete each task before their opponent. A ringmaster has invited the Nintendo crew to enjoy his carnival. This environment is where players will maneuver their character through six different boards as they attempt to earn coins and stars. However, power-ups are available including special spaces in the board that activate certain scenarios and candy that can transform a character into a variety of coin-stealing entities. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

“Nothing spectacular, just another mario party. I'm getting fed up with this series, these games don't even matter if you happen to have skill above your friends. If it's a close game and you win by 1 point through your ability to play mini-games better than others the game will give points to the loser at the end of the game. A close game means a tie.
Buck up nintendo, stop being so nice. If you lose, you lose, no charity points in the next installment please.

“I love Mario Party games, but this one was just bad. The mini games were honestly just shaking the control violently for three minutes in a certain direction, the maps were lame and not very well designed... Just bad. ”

“Played another game with my wife. This time it was a bit tedious. We'll never play "duel" mode on the Bowser map again. That could go on forever. I will say it was an exciting finish...”

“The concept sounds great: a digital board game with a huge variety of mini-games to keep things fresh. The reality is that some of the mini-games are painful to play, and it takes too long to do ANYTHING. Would some voiceovers be too much to ask?”

“Great party game, takes a long time if you want to unlock new characters. Purchasing stuff is a pain due to the number of tickets everything costs and how often you get tickets. Like the character set, too many menus to go through to get to play”

“It's a typical Mario Party game. It's okay, but overall I'm not a fan of the Mario Party series. The game is just too slow for me and feels like it consists mainly of waiting. I would like to classify it as good for parties, but it's just too slow.”
