DESCRIPTION
A fun creative outlet for aspiring artists and musicians, Mario Paint lets youngsters (and the young at heart) color, draw, compose music (from more than a dozen sounds) and produce four-, six- and nine-frame animations. Simple interfacing combined with a variety of colors, icons and backgrounds give the game virtually limitless replay value. The biggest drawback is that you can only save one picture at a time. Also, unlike with similar computer programs, you can't print your work. As a bonus, the cartridge includes a surprisingly enjoyable game of Gnat Attack, which involves using the mouse to maneuver a fly swatter around the screen in order to swat pesky critters. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide

“I liked this game, but it wasn't really a game. It was more like elektroplankton, more of a creative work of art than a game. You could do lots of fun stuff on this game, but it will always come down to the fly swatting game and the music editor....”
“I liked this game, but it wasn't really a game. It was more like elektroplankton, more of a creative work of art than a game. You could do lots of fun stuff on this game, but it will always come down to the fly swatting game and the music editor. Those two things made this game as popular as it was, and considering it was only two things, you could miss out on it and just watch Mario Paint Bohemian Rhapsody on Youtube instead.”

“Microsoft Paint, with a Mario theme. Seriously, it even comes with a mouse. The game does has some rudimentary animation options, a very cool music making mode, and a fun little fly-swatting minigame, but overall it's nothing special.”

“Very boring and pointless, I never understood why you would paint on a game with a controller, you are better off drawing with real utensils, It isn't like you could share your drawings online or anything with this game.”

“You could spend hours just messing around with the painting, music, and animation. There's also a fun flyswatter minigame. Pointless entertainment.”
