“I played this back in the day when I was in highschool. I have to say the Xbox implementation of this is near flawless. If you're a fan of MTG you won't be disappointed by this. There's also no pay-by-the card model. You get additional cards by winning games. The more you win the more cards you get to augment your decks. I haven't played much online yet, so I can't speak to that but "campaign" (you against the computer) play is good, and 2 headed giant multiplayer is good. ”

“Not a bad game overall. If you've been playing Magic for years then you may not like it at first. It's intended to give new players to the game easy access to the rules and some basic combos. It may not appeal to harcore Magic players though.”

“This game was a cute distraction, but it gimps one of Magic's strong suits: deck building.
I can understand not implementing full deck building, but this system is SERIOUSLY gimped. You unlock cards for the individual pre-constructed decks by winning games (which is cool). However, your only options are to either add in your unlocked cards or not add them in. You can't alter the original deck at all. That means that if you want to integrate your unlocked (and generally BETTER) cards, you have to increase your deck size. Dumb.”

“This game could have used some QA.
It's a concept that all Magic players have been wanting, but too many bugs and short comings spoil the experience.
You play just like the paper gamer, cards, deck, nothing more. Which is for the best.
You have 2, 3 or 4 player game, plus 2HG (2v2). It's fun to play, but a very limited experience, so there's no competition with the more expensive Magic Online.
You can't build decks. There are 8 prebuilt decks, on which you can unlock some extra cards, but you can't remove any. Which is a shame because those decks aren't very good. And unbalanced.
The game is very buggy. It isn't rare to start a 4 player game and when the game starts there's only 3 players. You could think that the other player just quit, but from experience in other games I can tell that before a game even starts, it's very rare. And it happens to me too once in a while. Or even more frustrating, the console freezes in the middle or near the end of the game.
Also, to unlock powerful cards for your decks, you have to play campaign mode in single player. Which sucks because there are 130 cards to unlock, that's 130 victories you need. That's a lot of matches, and you can't unlock them in multiplayer, which is a lot more fun and challenging to play. I myself unlocked all cards for 3 decks, but got bored to death and now play against other people with only those 3 decks.
The interface, while nothing outstanding, is pleasant to the eye and does its job. It's just too bad that the timer is always counting down and holding back, even when you can be sure that there's no moves anyone can do, but's that's more like details.
If the game had no bugs, there was some real deck building, and you didn't have to spend so much time unlocking cards, this game would be a solid 3 stars, maybe 4.”
