DESCRIPTION
Magic Johnson's Fast Break was the first basketball game to take advantage of the NES Satellite, an adapter that allows four players to compete simultaneously. Not only is this a good multiplayer contest, but it's also fun to challenge the computer. The action is fast-paced, and the computer-controlled players constantly swarm your team, so you've got to keep moving at all times. Although the backboards are a little crooked, the court is nicely drawn and the crowd actually jumps and waves their hands in the air. There are no dunk animations such as those found in Ultimate Basketball, Double Dribble and Hoops, but the close-up shots of Magic Johnson look enough like the real deal to please even the most discriminating of NBA fans. With a relatively high level of realism, lots of action and an endorsement by one of the nicest men in sports, Magic Johnson's Fast Break is a flawed but fun crowd-pleaser. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
