Electronic Arts further refines their perennial football series in an effort to create the most thorough football game on the Genesis platform. Key features in Madden NFL 97 include motion-captured player graphics, multiple offensive sets and the ability to play as one player throughout a game.

Still not enough? General manager options allow you to create players at any position, trade players as well as set custom leagues and tournaments. Also featured are player fatigue, a five-receiver passing mode, an option to save highlights and 500 redesigned plays by John Madden himself.

Of course, all of what you loved from previous versions have made the cut and are on the roster.
