DESCRIPTION
EA SPORTS continues its John Madden series with Madden NFL 95 for the Super NES. Up to five can play against each other or as teammates. Game modes include Exhibition, Season, Playoffs and Sudden Death, in which the first team to score wins the game. All 28 teams and stadiums from the 1994 NFL season are available as well as the All-Madden team. Each team has a 48-player roster.
John Madden, who helped design the strategies and plays for the game, hosts the pre-game show, halftime show and end game show. He also provides color commentary during the games, unless you turn off this feature prior to game time. Other options you can turn on or off include music and injuries.
You can select from two different Pass Catch modes. This option lets you decide whether you want to take control of receivers when the ball is still in air or only after a pass completion. Also, there are two different Pass Window modes. This enables you to view your receivers in passing windows or have the windows removed and watch the receivers as they run their patterns on the field. You call all your own plays and can even bluff if you like.
Thanks to a lack of NFL Player's Association license, players in Madden NFL 95 are named by number only. However, positions are rated, team mascot names are legitimate, game and team stats are kept, and you can substitute players at your discretion. Other special features and moves include drive and score summaries, high steps, straight arms, instant replays, audibles, no-huddle plays, onside kicks, scores from other games, world records and eight different endzone dances. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
