DESCRIPTION
The no-good varmint Mad Dog McCree is terrorizing our sleepy frontier town. He's locked up the sheriff and kidnapped the mayor's daughter. We need a hero to put a stop to these shenanigans before things get any worse. Players strap-on their six-shooters and answer the call in this remake of the 1990 laser disc arcade game. Mad Dog McCree is a shooting game created in a way to give the player the sense of being in a Western movie. The presentation is that of a live-action film. Scenes are acted out to tell the story and the player is regularly required to scroll a cursor around the screen to aim at bad guys, pressing an "Enter" button to shoot deserving targets.
This full-motion video shooting game will run on most DVD movie players. Publisher Digital Leisure has packaged this DVD video disc in three different ways, to remind consumers of the three main platforms on which it will work. Some packages of Mad Dog McCree are marked "PlayStation 2 Compatible," some are marked "Xbox Compatible," and some are released for regular DVD movie players with no mention of a particular console. It should be noted that this disc is actually a standard DVD and not a "game disc." Since the Xbox does not play DVD movies straight out of the box, Xbox users will need to have an Xbox DVD MoviePlayback kit, sold separately, to play this DVD version of Mad Dog McCree. ~ T.J.
