Lunar is the magical world in which this game takes place. It was once threatened by an evil force and was close to being completely wiped out. To save Lunar, four heroes arose and defeated the evil force. Legends, as well as some of the heroes, live on and inspire many of the children who now live in Lunar. One of those children, Alex, dreams of going on adventures with his three friends: Ramus, the dreamer; Nall, Alex's companion and rumored offspring of a white dragon; and Luna, an orphan that Alex's parents took in.
Of the four heroes who saved Lunar, Dyne is Alex's favorite. Dyne, a dragonmaster, died while battling a black dragon. In his memory a monument was built just outside of Alex's village, Burg. Almost every day Alex can be found visiting Dyne's memorial where he dreams endlessly of going on adventures. Will Alex ever have the opportunity to go on exciting adventures? Yes, and sooner than he may believe...
Players take on the role of Alex and his group of friends mentioned above. Other main characters that will help out along the way include: Nash, an overconfident apprentice to the magician Ghaleon; Mia, magician and daughter of Lemia (one of the four heroes); Kyle, master swordsmen and protector of the Nanza Barrier; and Jessica, governor of Meribia} and daughter of Master Mel (another of the four heroes).
In Lunar: The Silver Star users will perform typical role-playing actions such as battling monsters, purchasing armor and weapons, and casting magical spells. The game is viewed from a third-person perspective and features numerous cut-scenes and dialog throughout the adventure. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
