DESCRIPTION

ABC's popular and enigmatic drama comes to gamers in the form of Lost: Via Domus, although series fans looking for answers to the show's mysteries may be out of luck. While the plot of Via Domus intertwines with that of the first two seasons of Lost, the main character is a previously unseen Oceanic 815 survivor named Elliot, and, due to a bad case of amnesia, even Elliot doesn't know who he is. In true Lost style, playable flashbacks let gamers help him piece together his memory, and the game is handled episodically, with each chapter featuring a recap and a mini-cliffhanger.

More adventure than action, Via Domus often finds Elliot solving puzzles, like helping Jack stem the flow of jet fuel from the plane or tinkering with fuseboxes to open doors. Elliot, a photojournalist, can take pictures throughout the game as well, and will be required to do so during flashbacks in order to piece together events leading up to his arrival on the island. However, fits of action do come in the form of frenzied escapes from the frighteningly powerful Black Smoke and dodging bullets fired by the Others. Gamers must also barter goods with many of the show's mainstays, and exploring familiar locations like the Swan Station and the Black Rock will help players unravel Elliot's mysterious story, and bring him one step close to finding a way home. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide

“Plain suck is a fairly accurate summary. It looks pretty but its like an interactive and brief sumamry of the show. Interactive like a powerpoint slideshow though. And it misses a lot of stuff out.”

“You run around and talk to people, and follow flags in the jungle, and walk through dark caves just trying ot make sure you dont run out of light and die for no reason other than its dark.

As a sidenote, that game does not have the original voice actors from the show either :P”

“Like, you have torches, and a cigarette lighter. And if one of these isnt lighting up the area in a cave, and it goes tottally dark for a couple of seconds, you just die. Cause of death: the dark. ”

“It's been a while since I watched the original seasons of Lost so I'm not entirely sure about what was in the series, but, you play as a character who wasn't in the TV show so I guess the entire game is new story in that way. I don't think you learn a huge amount about the actual Lost cast though, I mean there's some stuff that happens in the game involving the main cast that was never on the show, but I don't think the actual TV show ever acknowledges that any of the things in the game happenned. I gave up on lost at about season 3 so unfortunately I'm lacking in an intricate knowledge to really know.

I think it'd be odd to hear Kate or LOcke sounding like a couple of 19 year old high pitch voiced interns.

“I rented the game, so it's out of my house now, but for the most part the graphics were actually quite nice. There was one or two people that looked 'special' but tthe scenery was nice and most of the characters looked like who they were meant to be, even if they didn't sound it :P”
