DESCRIPTION
In this highly imaginative graphic adventure game, you take the role of young Bobbin Threadbare, an inexperienced member of the Guild of Weavers in a world headed for apocalyptic ruin. As Bobbin, you learn progressively more difficult and challenging "weaves," or musical magic patterns always consisting of four notes. Each weave brings you closer to understanding the mysteries of the Loom. Through exploration of the fantasy game world, specific actions you take cause musical notes (or threads), to play.
Each draft (a set of four notes) has a unique effect and learning the purpose of each will lead to success in the game. A Book of Patterns is included with the game that contains a description and blank lines for 29 possible drafts, each providing Bobbin with another magical spell to use.
As the purposes of each draft are perceived via Bobbin's in-game actions or the occurrence of an event, you must pencil in the draft for each appropriate spell. Later, when that particular magic is needed to advance the plot or perform some action, play (spin) it on the on-screen distaff which is the magic staff of the Elders. In this manner, you attain information required to divert the encroaching disaster. Mouse (preferred), keyboard and joystick are all supported as are several sound and graphic options. ~ Michael L. “This was the first game I remember seeing on a very clunky CRT monitor with a large desktop tower. I watched my brother play it as I kept getting confused how to progress through the game and it was mostly about patience and having a notepad handy for writting things down. What made me remember the game most of all was the funny moments in it like the screams from bobbin in the water-twister and amazing soundtrack Loom had. When it was released on steam I knew I had to have it as an old school classic game.”

“I love this game. Played it through to completion for the second time, only this time so that a couple of my friends could watch as well. It's short, yes, but oh so enjoyable. Still feel that...”

“Booted up Loom just for a bit, mostly 'cause I wanted to hear the music and stuff. It's a fun game, though, even though it's really short.”

“Picked up Loom from the Lucas Arts re-releases on Steam because I never played it. Or so I though. Turns out it actually is that one adventure-game I briefly played with our neighbour's kids when I...”
