DESCRIPTION
Created by the development team responsible for 2007's Drawn to Life, Lock's Quest is an offbeat strategy game that borrows elements from puzzle titles like Rampart. You must help young warrior Lock protect his idyllic homeland from a robot invasion. Using Lock's skills as both an architect and engineer, you must build structures to protect mystical objects called "Source Artifacts." Use stone, metal, or wood to erect towers, turrets, and other defensive measures to repel waves of wacky robots. In addition to the single-player mode, you can challenge friends online or locally via wireless connection. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“Purchased this game with the last of my gift card money. Funny how it's named Lock's Quest, seeing as how it LOCKS up every time I go into sleep mode.”

“Absolutely love this game. Good story, awesome gameplay. The devs, 5th Cell, are a bunch of bros.”

“Lock's quest is a TD on the DS (one of the few... the only other one I know of is Ninjatown...) and does it job quite well.
+ The gameplay is a standard tower defense with the basic turrets and some specials, the common traps,... However, what sets this game apart is that you take an active role during the battle. You can keep your base together or (which I did most often, your towers are able to last a while :D) take the fight to your foes.
+ The story isn't too special but it contains quite a lot of good twists. I sincerely suggest you play it a second time trough.
+ Upon completion of the game you can take the fight against the good guys. It's just the same game with different sprites but it's quite satisfactory...
- It is sometimes rather hard to keep a decent eye on your base, causing you to lose the game when you really shouldn't have.
- You need traps. It kinda irks me that you need these temporary placements since it means you'll have a temporary defense, for a single round, instead of a decent base.”

“Fantastic take on the tower defense genre, despite having many flaws”

“Checked this out for the first time, not sure if there's enough to keep my interested for a long time though. Cool concept/mechanic though.”
