For 2004, Acclaim's popular Legends of Wrestling franchise comes barreling towards the ring, offering more characters, new matches, new game modes, and new classic venues, in Legends of Wrestling: Showdown.

Featuring over 70 of the most popular professional wrestling characters in the sport's history, Legends of Wrestling: Showdown builds upon its predecessor with the additions of the Ultimate Warrior, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. With all of these classic characters come their signature entrances and taunts, all designed to contribute to the nostalgia and realism of the game. Shadowing the action in the ring with their witty, if not insulting, color commentary are Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and Tony Schiavone.

Bone-shattering battles such as First Blood, Cage, Battle Royal, Six- and Eight-Man Elimination Bouts, and newly developed Classic Matches allow players to battle the greats, and revisit the timeless rivalries from yesteryear.
