DESCRIPTION
As Prince Colwyn, you must save Princess Lyssa from the horrid Beast and his army of Slayers in Krull, a top-down action game from Gottlieb. Based on the film of the same name, Krull takes you through five levels of danger in your quest. Aiding you in this task is the mystical Glaive, a large, spiked throwing star with boomerang-like properties.
The controls of the game are identical to Robotron: one joystick controls your character's movements while the other fires the Glaive.
Krull is divided into 5 distinct levels.
In level one your mission is to retrieve the five pieces of the Glaive, which happen to be on a mountainside that is experiencing a severe rockslide.
In Level two you must destroy an army of Slayers while rescuing your own army.
Level three is similar in purpose to level two, but you must also touch a floating hexagon after you pick up your men to advance to the next level.
Level four finds you in front of the large hexagon, which is five layers deep. The layers change colors and may be destroyed when they turn black. Penetrate the hexagon completely and rescue your men.
The final level pits you against the Beast, who launches heat-seeking fireballs at you. Avoid him and rescue Princess Lyssa to win the game.
After rescuing Princess Lyssa the game starts again, only harder. ~ Michael Schwartz/Joan Dykman, All Game Guide
