DESCRIPTION
Heroes from the Final Fantasy universe reunite with familiar faces from the Magical Kingdoms of Walt Disney in this first handheld edition of Kingdom Hearts. When development of the original PlayStation 2 version of Kingdom Hearts was announced at 2001's E3, some balked at the idea of lighthearted characters, such as Goofy or Donald Duck, entering battles alongside video game idols like the brooding, highly stylized Cloud Strife, but the final release's surreal storyline and solid, traditional, RPG-style gameplay won praise from critics and fans alike.
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is designed to maintain that successful (and unorthodox) mix, as it continues the story told in the original. Beginning just after the events of the first PS2 game, GBA players resume the role of Sora, who is given some cryptic words of advice and sent to a strange, dark place that unravels his memories and converts them into cards that are scattered throughout the game world. Unlike its predecessor, Chain of Memories is viewed from an isometric perspective and features a combat system that's based on these memory cards. Developers promise the inclusion of over 100 characters from the Disney and Final Fantasy franchises. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

+ The story is simple and introduces you to the infamous Organization. Playing trough the game, losing memories and gaining new ones, is a rather unique perspective and quite pleasent to play trough.
+ Sound, graphics, feel... all of it is nearly perfect, real outstanding work for a GBA game.
+ The batle system takes time to get used o but once you've got it you'll be smashing bogeys like there's no tomorrow. I also like how it's a lot more tactical and how you can react to you opponent's moves.
- Between floors you'll be doing the same over and over again... kinda a pity, they could've implemented some premade rooms with something special depending on what world you're playing.
- The reward for completing a floor is given in a room requiring a specific card... randomly gained from defeating foes. It's a pity but it makes the worlds feel even less impressive now you'll be grinding for your rewards after finidhing the boss...
All in all I really like this game and think many games could learn from it's battle system.”

“Played for a bit (up to the first boss). First impression is rather mixed: on one hand it seems interesting and fun and on the other it seems like the card system isn't well thought out. My main...”

“Love the story, love the series... Card based battle games are just stupid though.”

“This sequel was seriously not necessary in the overall Kingdom Hearts universe. It was an obvious attempt at making more money and was just not needed to bridge the gap between Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. With that said, it had a very unique and fun bat”
