DESCRIPTION
In King of the Monsters, players choose one of six playable monsters and battle against other mutated freaks in one-on-one or tag team matches. In one-on-one matchups, players can tangle with human or computer opponents, while in tag team mode, two human players match wits against two computer enemies. Each of King of the Monsters' gargantuan fighters has inherent strengths and weaknesses, along with a repertoire of professional wrestling moves. Players can play as Rocky, a giant creature made of dense stone; Geon, a giant lizard; Astro Guy, an irradiated human with tremendous strength; Beetle Mania, a gigantic stag beetle; Woo, a monstrous and angry gorilla; or Poison Ghost, a gigantic apparition from the swamp. In addition to fighting monsters, players must also contend with the local police and military forces who launch missiles, fly jets and drive tanks to keep the giants from destroying their cities. Monsters can grab most military implements and use them against their enemies. There are also several non-human and non-monster hazards in the game like power lines, land mines and deep water holes. Players must avoid these obstacles or risk losing the energy needed to win matches. Players can also grab power-ups and other goodies during matches to help their monsters gain energy and strength. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
