DESCRIPTION
King of the Monsters 2 is the 1992 sequel to the SNK coin-op hit, King of the Monsters. The game takes place in 1999, three years after the setting in the original. Of the six original monster warriors, three have survived, though they have mutated even further. Geon, the dragon, has become the spiny Super Geon. Astro Guy, the human competitor from the original, has morphed into Atomic Guy. Finally, Woo, the gargantuan gorilla, has obtained bionic limbs to become Cyber Woo.
In King of the Monsters 2, the monsters no longer attack each other — they battle aliens that have come to rule Earth. The evil alien leader, Farmady, is behind the plot to conquer the monsters' territory. The monster heroes must now battle through cities worldwide and take on the leaders of the alien sect. Between fights with alien leaders, the monsters smash their way through cities, searching for point bonuses and power-ups. The monsters must also fend off smaller aliens and the human military. To defeat the military efforts, the monsters simply have to smash a vehicle and watch it burst into flames. The monsters can also pick up disabled vehicles and buildings and lob them at enemies, including the small aliens and their leaders. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
