DESCRIPTION
In King of Dragon Pass the player is presented with a series of complex, interwoven decisions with the objective of forging tribal alliances into one unifying kingdom. Decidely unlike other empire building games, King of Dragon Pass discards the simplistic build-an-army-and-conquer motif in favor of a more comprehensive world model that forces the player to balance the needs of diplomancy, economics and sociological factors against various external threats.
Each game year consists of five seasons in which the player performs such actions as planting and harvesting crops, raiding neighbors, establishing trade routes and making sacrifices to the local deities. Frequently, the player will be confronted with unanticapted situations, most of which have no clearly "right" or "wrong" response. The player is asked to make decisions for the tribe on such matters as marriage disputes, problems with criminals, and strange visitors, some of whom are helpful and some of whom aren't.
King of Dragon Pass is adapted from the pen & paper role playing game Hero Wars. ~ Richard Gilliam, All Game Guide
