Tiny Komatsu construction vehicles, scaled for Tokyo's super-congested streets and miniscule plots of land, are familiar sights to any resident of that city, past or present. Komatsu, of course, makes full-size machinery as well, and their logo is often visible on the arms of leviathans swinging the girders for the 50th floor of a new corporate complex into place, high above the surging crowds. Komatsu provided complete technical supervision for "Kinki Ippai" at the behest of its producers, and the title features 10 different construction machinery including bulldozers and backhoes.
The controls, the motions, and the sounds of each vehicle are faithfully replicated, as is construction procedure. The training mode teaches the basics of operating a chosen vehicle, and once successfully licensed, the player is free to try their hand at practical timed trials such as putting up an entire building. Interspersed among the realistic tasks are more lighthearted projects including a treasure excavation. ~ A.S. Kaku, All Game Guide
