DESCRIPTION
Agent extraordinaire Rico Rodriguez returns for more death-defying missions against ruthless cartels and corrupt governments in this sequel to 2006's open world, third-person shooter. Instead of the Cuba-inspired island of San Esperito, Rodriguez will battle heavily armed foes in well guarded compounds scattered throughout the South East Asian islands of Panau. As in the original Just Cause, how you cross the terrain or complete mission objectives is up to you. Hitch a ride in a 4x4 to travel up a snow-capped mountain, pilot a helicopter or plane, or slip behind the wheel of a dune buggy to travel over desert regions.
One distinctive feature from the first game is back with improved play mechanics. Rodriguez can fire a grappling hook anytime and anywhere he wants, allowing him to latch onto a surface to propel him forward or to bring items (and even enemies) closer. This technique can be combined with the protagonist's parachute to glide through the air and perform elaborate combos. Rodriguez will need to rely on new stunts, vehicles, and weapons to become a one-man army in a world spanning 1,000 square kilometers in size. Just Cause 2 is Swedish developer Avalanche Studios' first game on the PlayStation 3 platform. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“A sandbox romp through Panau. At first everything will seem incredible and fun, but the gameplay very quickly begins to wear down on you with its repetitive nature, until you're left with a sandbox you're not as keen on returning to.
What I liked:
- It's a big sandbox comprised of small cities, land and sea, as well as the occasional mountain.
- The grappling hook (essentially Scorpion's signature weapon/tool) is great amounts of fun, and has a very versatile nature. It can even be used to link any two objects together; imagine the possibilities!
- Visually pleasing for the most part. The game's not ugly.
- Ridiculous, over-the-top nature is a refreshing and fun take on this genre.
What I didn't like:
- Most of the vehicles felt rather lazy, especially those of civilians. Poor models and rather shoddy physics.
- Despite appearing to offer you all you could want in a sandbox, it's not quite presented well enough to avoid becoming extremely repetitive. Once you've played around with all your toys, you probably won't want to come back.
- Gunfights are rather boring if you don't have any explosives.
- At a certain point the missions become extremely repetitive and uncreative; once the game opens up, you're left with a world of same-y missions and very little motivation to proceed. So you'll probably play around with the sandbox for some time until you're bored of that as well.”

“Would have to say this was a fairly decent game though not what you'd expect for a 21st century game. It wasn't as good as the first but was still better. Unfortunately a lot of flaws in this game made it almost not worth and this was due to fairly bad voice acting and a fairly dull story. There were also little things like Scorpio not being able to climb objects but having to using his zip line on them even though they were within arms reach. The game play was fun especially using the zip line to your advantage over enemies.”

“It provides over the top chaotic action and lets you do everything from attatching a stupid guy to a plane and flying off to jumping from a vehicle to another. Conclusion: This game is ADDICTING!”
