DESCRIPTION
Players don their pith helmets once again in Jungle Hunt for the Atari 5200. In this nicely done adaptation of the arcade game, players guide a safari-suited adventurer through four screens (swinging from vine to vine, fighting alligators to reach the end of a river swim, jumping over/ducking under rolling boulders, evading natives to rescue a damsel in distress) where careful timing is truly the skill most needed to survive. The Atari 5200 edition of Jungle Hunt is one of that console's better arcade ports, with graphics and sounds that effectively capture the coin-op experience. Even the non-centering controllers won't give players a lot of grief — ultimately, the joystick is only vital in two stages of the game (the river screen and the natives screen). A patient finger on the action button is the key to surviving Jungle Hunt. ~ Earl Green, All Game Guide
