DESCRIPTION
John Romero's Daikatana is a first-person shooter that plays out across different historical periods, from ancient Greece to a futuristic San Francisco. As the player moves from one mission to the next, he uses different weapons and encounters a variety of enemies specific to the current time period. Also adding a new aspect of play to the genre is the inclusion of two sidekick characters, who follow the hero through the adventures, helping out when they can.
This highly anticipated PC title makes its way to the N64 console with this release. John Romero garnered fame and respect in the gaming industry for his work on groundbreaking first-person shooters from id Software such as Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake. This game represents the first effort by Ion Storm, the second game development company co-founded by Romero. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“Truly a piece of work that needs to be seen to be believed. This game is the video game world's equivilent to the Necronomicom. Well, technically Atari's ET would better fit that role. John Romero had to have been attempting to make a bad game here.”
