Endorsed by the eight-time Grand Slam winner, Jimmy Connors' Tennis lets up to four players compete simultaneously using a ComLynx adapter. Before play, choose your character's gender, enter your initials and select either a grass or hard court.
Game modes include singles or doubles matches against the computer or friend(s) as well as a single-player Tournament which can be continued via passwords. Tournament mode has you competing against 23 increasingly challenging opponents until you face top seed Jimmy Connors himself.
The perspective is above and behind the player in the foreground as you serve and volley following actual rules of the sport. Moves at your disposal include forehands, backhands and overhead smashes, with the directional pad influencing the direction of each shot.
For those having some trouble with the control, there's an option to have colored squares on the court's surface: black squares show you where to move to execute a smash; yellow squares show where to move to return a ball after it bounces; and red squares show where to move if you want to hit the ball before it bounces. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
