“J&D was a good platformer and was a rather steady competitor for the Ratchet&Clank series back then (btw, Jak lost this battle :D). Were R&C did classic platforming/adventure with some weapons and gadgets added in, J&D stayed with the good ol' platformin + powerups combo :D

+ Good platforming action. Yep, very nice gameplay :D
+The story, while goofy, wasn't bad and the characters were fun.
- Collectibles, unoriginal powerups, lame racing,... I know they're common occurences in the ol' platforming scene but I don't care for them.

I never played Crash Bandicoot (in my defense, I do know who he is :D) so I can't compare them (and I therefor I can justify this score :D). I loved playing this game back then, nice and relaxed, and was quite saddened when they made Jak all "dark" in J&D2.”
