DESCRIPTION
Tee off against the Golden Bear himself in Jack Nicklaus' Power Challenge Golf for the Genesis. Create up to eight male or female golfers to become part of your list of Club Members, or fill the roster with computer players you can edit yourself! Up to 21 golfers can be saved to battery, consisting of any combination of computer and created players.
Edit the golfers' shot tendencies (straight, fade or draw), skill level (beginner, advanced or expert), animation (four different swings) as well as their accuracy and distance percentages. You can't, however, edit the abilities of Jack Nicklaus. Up to four players can alternate turns in the following game modes: Stroke, Skins, Tournament Play, Driving Range and Putting Green.
A tournament can be set to five rounds, each consisting of eighteen holes, with standings updated after every hole. Three authentic courses are available, including Sherwood Country Club (Thousand Oaks, California), English Turn Golf & Country Club (New Orleans, Louisiana), and Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey, site of the 1993 U.S. Open. A horizontal swing meter and triple click interface are used to hit the ball: press once to start the backswing, again to begin the downswing, and once more to determine accuracy.
Jack Nicklaus' Power Challenge Golf also keeps track of your golfer's statistics as well as Best Rounds (the seven best rounds for each course are saved) and the "Hole-In-One Club" (records the course, hole number, skill level and date of your special achievement). This is the first golf game on the Genesis to feature both a normal and reverse-angle instant replay. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
