DESCRIPTION

Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road lets players drive one of four trucks through eight different tracks (which sometimes appear backwards) as viewed from an angled overhead perspective. Racing legend Stewart drives the white truck while human contestants or the computer handles the other three. Control is simple, consisting of a steering wheel, a pedal and a nitro button, the latter of which provides a jolt of super speed. The tracks, on the other hand, are not so simple as they are bogged down with mud puddles, moguls, ramps (for large and small jumps), walls, flagpoles and other realistic obstacles. By placing in a race or by picking up moneybags along the raceway, players earn cash for use in purchasing extra nitro and upgraded tires, shocks, acceleration and top speed. Super Off Road has solid sound effects and fairly good graphics with textured courses and clearly delineated walls, but the game's best features are its challenging gameplay and semi-accurate driving physics.
