Taking place from 1961 to 1971, Indy 500 Evolution offers games more than 360 era-authentic cars capable of taking players to speeds in excess of 170 miles per hour, while a full damage model means that reckless driving may result in broken engine covers, wheels, exhausts, and other important parts. The "Career" mode features simulation-style racing that takes into account dozens of variables, from fuel load to tire wear, and those who like to tinker can custom build their own open-wheel monster from the same parts used by legends like Al Unser and A.J. Foyt. Every race includes a full 33-car field, and each competitor has a respect meter that fluctuates depending on how aggressively players drive.
