DESCRIPTION
Imperialism challenges you to become a world superpower by carefully balancing exploration, trading, diplomacy and military elements. The Year is 1815. Napoleon has been defeated, and you are one of the major powers left after the fighting is over. If you want to dominate the world, you will have to marshall every aspect of your economy, from industry and trade to farming and mining, in your quest for supremacy.
Of course, you are not the only power out there. Other countries have the same ideas and also wish to dominate the global market. Do you have the know-how and diplomacy skills to beat them at their own game? If all else fails, you must turn to war for dominance.
Running a nation also involves more than international politics and military conquest. Players have a dynamic economy to run, where they turn raw materials into finished goods. Over a dozen commodities such as clothing, armaments, paper, furniture, and numerous natural resources are included to help build a thriving free-market economy.
Imperialism can be played by up to eight players over a modem or network, with each player becoming one of the major powers. Players can play in a virtual Europe or on an entirely new map. Each player can choose the name of their country and the color of their flag and seal by clicking on the country they wish to guide. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
