What's a guy to do? How to prove worthy of your true love and get a seat on the venerable Council of Wizards at the same time? Is one goal more reasonable than the other? Apparently in the mystical Land of Lattice, the two are not mutually exclusive! Indeed, our intrepid young hero, Hocus Pocus, has discovered that by passing the four tests devised for him by Terexin, the wizened old leader of the vaunted Council, both purposes will be served.

Since the time he was a young lad, Hocus has studied and sacrificed personal pleasures for the sake of gaining a seat on the wizards' council. But as a fledgling sorcerer, he must become an apprentice first and by ridding the kingdom of the dangers and evil minions that plague the land, he can achieve not only apprenticeship but the coveted Council seat as well. And by doing that, he'll win the hand of the fair maiden Popopa.

In this coming-of-age tale, you'll guide our would-be magician/hero through all 32 levels of the commercial version of Hocus Pocus. Teleportation, mythical beasts (dragons), demons and more await Hocus' journey into the dangerous realms that serve as home to the scourges of the land. Armed with magical potions, spells and lots of hope, Hocus accepts the challenge as he struggles toward fulfillment of his lifelong dream and the waiting arms of his one true love.

Hocus Pocus, a traditional 2D side-scroller, features 12 theme songs, three difficulty levels, multi-channel sound effects and 256-color graphic environments that change completely, as do backgrounds and enemies, after every two levels of play.
