Do you ever get bored of American helicopter simulations? Does the idea of flying yet another mission in an Apache make you yawn? Well, saddle up, Comrade, because Hind has flown in to give you a totally different experience. This game focuses on the Russian Mi-24 Hind D (NATO Designation), and incorporates a whole new style of gameplay.
Hind was developed by Digital Integration, the company responsible for the successful Tornado and Apache simulations. The game takes place in three arenas, Kazakstan, Korea, and Afghanistan. Besides the usual training missions, the game includes single missions and dynamic campaigns in each of the above areas. The game also includes the comprehensive mission planner for which Digital Integration is famous for.
The game has scalable levels of difficulty regarding its flight model and avionics. Since the Hind is a two-person helicopter, the game also includes the option for a computer controlled weapons officer to help with target acquisition and threat warnings. The flight model can also be as easy or hard as the user wishes. This allows the game to be scalable to many different types of pilots.
Hind features 256-color SVGA graphics, which can be updated to 3dfx Voodoo capability with the listed patches. The graphics include detailed landscapes, helicopters, and even people who enter, leave, and shoot at your helicopter. If, Comrade, you think you have what it takes to blast the Capitalist pigs into oblivion, load up Hind and find out. ~ Brian Rubin, All Game Guide
