Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars takes up where the first game ended. Lord Ironfist is dead and his two sons battle for his throne. You must choose which son to play, either the good Roland, or the evil and dastardly Archibald.
Players must divide their time and money between recruiting heroes, building armies and fighting to control the scarce and precious resources which dot the landscape.
In addition to the above campaign-type game, players can duke it out with their friends over a network, hotseat, modem, or direct connection and includes enough scenarios, both for single and multiplayer to keep players gaming for months, if not years.
Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars includes two new character classes, the Wizard and the Necromancer, each with their own specialized units, and skills have been added to the roster of the heroes. These skills enable them to have a greater chance of success at various activities, including estate management, navigation, pathfinding, and over 15 more.
In addition new monsters have been added, and certain units can be upgraded for stronger, faster, more powerful units. New spells are also in the roster, and new buildings allow players to better defend their towns. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
