DESCRIPTION
Combining traditional RPG and RTS gameplay, Heroes of Annihilated Empires allows players to roam the environment as one of 18 types of heroes in search of recruits for their army, quests to complete, and rare items to collect. The first in a planned trilogy of games, Heroes of Annihilated Empires takes place in a fictional landscape that is somehow tied to modern day existence. Gamers select their hero from four races and recruit magical units such as Ents and Dragons, or use modern day weaponry including fighter jets and tanks. Players may have thousands of units on the battlefield to command when going to war.
There are numerous dangers throughout the mountains and forests that create the in game habitat, and players can collect loot from animals and enemies they slay and from chests located in scattered dungeons. Though they begin with a variety of spells, heroes can collect additional spells dropped by defeated foes or from non-player characters as rewards for completing objectives. Heroes will also gain experience and higher levels as they progress through the game, giving them better defenses, higher hit points, and a wider variety of skills. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

+ The gameplay is a very nice mix between RTS and RPG. Most people will sacrifice their hero for 30 min in order to start building and continue from there. Once you've got a decent base you'll likely only build units and focus on the hero/card aspects.
+ Good voice-acting.
- Only three maps with 5 races... < altough 2 of 'em are very alike.
- The campaign is awfull... and it's unfinished.
- Multiplayer doesn't work outside of LAN.
The game isn't that great... 'till you do some skirmishes. Those are actually fun :D”
