Players guide the unabashedly sexy Julie, more formally known as the F.A.K.K. 2, through a new adventure to save the universe from hostile takeover and general evil. In the 30 years since Julie defeated the megalomaniac Lord Tyler, her home world of Eden has been rebuilding itself. Eden is a very special place, where the water keeps imbibers young and strong. If nothing else, this seems to have helped Julie to keep her "girlish figure" for all these years.

Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 is an action shooter with puzzles and plot devices to help keep the tale in context. Though built on the Quake III engine, in many ways the game plays more like a Tomb Raider title, featuring a third-person perspective with some jumping and climbing challenges. The game is more combat-oriented than many straight adventure games, however, as more invading enemies or angry monsters may be waiting around each turn.

Throughout the game, Julie gains access to many different weapons. Some weapons require both hands, but Julie can use two single-handed guns or blades at once. Weapon attacks can be strung together in special combinations for added damage. Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 is proudly based on the movie of the same name and the story and gameplay are presented according to the style of the film.
