DESCRIPTION
When an evil king destroys the clan guarding the Heavenly Sword, players must take the role of Nariko and begin a long journey to revenge. Featuring in-game cinematography and real-time story involvement, Heavenly Sword is designed to look and feel similar to an action movie and stars Andy Serkis as the invading king. To complete her quest, Nariko must take up the sword and fight her way through miles of enemies.
The sword itself is deadly to mortals who wield it, so Nariko must find and kill the king before her life is taken by the powers of her weapon. Players can create their own fighting style by switching between three different stances, and when a meter at the bottom of the screen is filled, players may execute visually stimulating and deadly combos. Besides using the Heavenly Sword, gamers can also lay waste to their enemies with spears and bazookas, and a counter system allows players to perform reversals by successfully blocking an opponents attack. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

“Beat Heavenly Sword. FInal fight was way too hard. I had to run away and just reflect magic back at him.”

“It was my first game on PS3 and i like it. But not because i like "slashers", but because of plunging interesting story, well-made face motion capture and charismatic main villain.”

“The graphics were very nice but it feels a lot like they were trying to be God of War and in the end the game slows down a lot when a lot is on screen. I'd prefer to be playing the PS2 God of War over this game, but luckily it was very short. I...”

I'd prefer to be playing the PS2 God of War over this game, but luckily it was very short. I survived the retarded sister who was kinda cute, and the annoying tilt control action sequences. Neat ideas, props guys, but you didn't do it well enough for me. I look forward to a sequel, I have faith this game will leap forward dramatically.”

“Well, after looking at two Blockbuster stores, I decided (for the time-being) to choose Heavenly Sword. I would have to say that it is very Devil May Cry, but without his guns. I'm surprised...”

“In this world strippers aren't dancers with father issues that take off their clothes, no, they are scantily clad girls with father issues that slice off your skin.”

“A fun but short game of mostly hack and slash. High Production values but definitely a game that is good for a rent not a purchase.”

I loved this game. The only gripe about it is obviously the length, it's possible to beat it in one really long sitting. I consider it worthy of a replay or two.
