DESCRIPTION

Haunted House II 3D is a homebrew revival of the original Atari VCS game Haunted House, only this time with isometric 3D backgrounds standing in for the original game's 2D maze of rooms. The premise of the game is the same: avoid spiders, skeletons, and ghosts, and try to find all of the treasure hidden within the maze. The action button illuminates the room just a little bit, but the arrival of one of the above creatures blows the light out. Control is as slick as can be and the graphics are nice — the new 3D graphics are low-key backgrounds which, more than anything, alert the player to what direction he can travel in. The gameplay itself is actually 2D, with the 3D room serving as simple backgrounds to the same overhead view as seen in the original game. Three difficulty levels and two mazes are available.
