Break into the computer of the mysterious Magma, Ltd. in Hacker, one of the only games whose packaging refuses to tell you what it's about. Opening with only a stark "Logon Please" screen, it leaves it to you to find out. After the security system crashes and lets you in, you stumble upon signs this is no ordinary server. It's asking you to use your joystick to coordinate some mysterious business involving robots and laser tests, for starters.
Soon you're using your Commodore 64 to maneuver remote-controlled drones through an underground maze, searching for evidence that will implicate Magma Ltd. in a conspiracy worse than Enron. Steve Cartwright followed up with a sequel, Hacker 2: The Doomsday Papers, that was less enigmatic. ~ John Gorenfeld, All Game Guide
