DESCRIPTION
It is 2017 and the dangers found in .hack//G.U.: Vol. 3 Redemption are filtering out of the game. The evil entity terrorizing players in "The World" is free and wreaking havoc in real-life. Players once again take the role of Haseo, a young adventurer who is the only hope for restoring peace in "The World."
Gamers lead Haseo through many recognizable environments and into such new root towns as Breg Epona and the Net Slum. The steam bike makes a return and players can now upgrade their bikes and speed through five riding missions. Toward the end of the game, players may access a 100 floor dungeon and work through each level with their most powerful party members.
Haseo has earned a few upgrades via a mysterious hacker who broke into his account and added a new set of powers. These powers, called the "Xth" form, allow Haseo to use a pair of pistols with blades on the barrel. With these weapons Haseo can deal greater damage and perform a "double trigger" attack by invoking a special ability.
The level cap is increased to 150, and gamers can add up to 22 additional avatars to their party. In the heat of battle, if players find themselves at the losing end, they can access the "avatar awakening" power and drain the virus cores from the enemy. Additionally, there are new cards for the "Crimson Versus" game and a new arena battle. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide

“This Game, Is Pretty Good, I Mean, The Way it Simulates An MMORPG Is Really Almost To A "T", The Only Down Side, Is That It Partially Destroys The MMORPG Feeling With All The Overly Dramatic Events, But Them Their Selves, Just Add To How Good This Game Is. It's A Real-Time Hack-And-Slash Game, It Takes A Certain Level of Skill, But You Can Basically Choose The Difficulty, By Choosing What Level Your Going To Be At. But The Story, I EPIC, Like On A Major Scale, Just A Little Over Dramatic. Replay Value is Not That High But Once Your Through The First Time, That'll Make You Love The Game, That You'd Want To Play It Again To See If There's Anything You Missed. Which there Is. Lots :D
The End To It All, Hope Not, If They Make A New Series I'd Be The First To Pre-Order It :D EPIC ENDING!
Spoiler Hint : Futari No Kiwami!!!

“So I've owned this game a long time...but only recently did come up with my review
Basically, playing as the Adept Rogue Haseo gave me some satisfaction but still let me down.
.hack// has been wonderful gameplay all around, graphic have always been beautiful and only gotten better, and story rocks.
However, it limits your options, in the first four titles, you play as Kite, a Twin Blade, and in GU you play as Haseo, a man toting dual daggers, a flameberge, a scythe, and then later Dual Guns.
Sadly...I'd like to play as a Long Arm in Kite's games and a Tribal Grappler in Haseo's, but the game doesn't let me...
Thus minus 1 star
However...Gameplay Rocks, Haseo can use any of his obtained weapons, and Kite before him could purposefully weaken enemies...
Then the party system really picks it up when you add different classes...
Whats even more fun is the status ailments are deep yet understandable...resulting in a full-tie simulated MMO that plays beautifully
My main beef with GU is PKs, or as I like to say, MUDERERs are all too common, in fact over half of GU, 1 2. and 3 is played in a PK Arena, where over half the fights are very dark and murderously toned.
Again minus one star for support of mass murdering with impunity...
However battling the monsters could be classified as such murdering but, I feel killing monsters is different than killing a Human, after all, those monsters attack you first, so you defend yourself, whereas PKing you assault the nearest player, without asking...
The monster fights are immensely fun...various monsters have abilities that either render tem unlaunchable, physically immune but mystically damageable, and even more than those...
Still I feel it could be more fun if they'd allow you to pick your class...
However: the simulated MMO side of the game makes a reasonable excuse, so while am dissatisfied, I am not too unhappy,
.hack// GU Vol3 gets a 3 of 5...a good game, worth the money paid to buy it, but lacks customization capabilities.”
