DESCRIPTION
Gravitar for the Atari VCS is a competently programmed port of the relatively complex, 1982 arcade semi-classic. The vector graphics of the original have been replaced with raster graphics, and the surface of the planet is blocky. Overall, visuals are functional and sport faded color, but no flicker, and the game sounds similar to Asteroids. Control is more difficult than the arcade version, as the joystick steps in for the lack of separate buttons for thrust and tractor beam. In addition, the arcade game lets players fire four shots at once while the home version is limited to two. The VCS game does offer five difficulty levels, including a 100-ship mode and a no-gravity mode. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
