Konami䀙s seminal shooter series resurfaces as a five-game compilation exclusively for PSP. Each classic coin-op game is presented in its original 2D, side-scrolling orientation, but players are also free to switch to a widescreen viewpoint for a new twist on the sci-fi action. All games involve blasting relentless swarms of enemy vessels as players prepare to engage towering boss characters to save the galaxy. Glowing capsules left behind from defeated enemies can be stockpiled to form a choice of power-ups, ranging from bombs and lasers to shields and missiles. In addition to all five Gradius games, including the previously unreleased Gradius Gaiden, the collection features a gallery mode where players can listen to music and watch trailers for each title. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
