DESCRIPTION

A drastically simplified, though enjoyably challenging video version of the country club pastime, Golf sports a nine-hole, par-36 course complete with fairways, greens, sand traps, water hazards, a rough and trees. Played alone or against a friend, golfing consists of maneuvering a right-handed golfer into position by the ball and pressing the fire button for back swing. The longer the button is held, the more powerful the shot (a precursor to the swing meter). The course is viewed from a top-down perspective, but the golfer always appears in a side position. When the ball reaches the putting green the "camera" pulls in for a close-up. Simplistic sound effects and blocky graphics belie the somewhat difficult nature of this game. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
