- Really asserted itself on the PS3 system. Visuals are just perfection, cinematics rightly use the in-game tech because it looks so damn good. This is the epitome of 'high definition' graphics.
- Whilst the combos haven't changed much over the series, they really have just improved upon a proven system.
- God of War continues to show us all how Quick-Time Events should be done, if they're going to be done.
- Story is as climactic as they come; you kill pretty much everyone on Mt Olympus, god or otherwise, on a brutal and relentless path to revenge.
- Some really cool boss fights. Many you'll want to revisit.
- Great replayability. Various items and post-completion modifiers to tinker around with.
- Amazing orchestral soundtrack.

Things I didn't like:
- Lack of a chapter select or neat save system to boost replayability even more.
- Perhaps a little too easy for a God of War game.
- Athena is as irritating a character as she was in God of War 2.”

The game play and combat style is the same old god of war but if it wasn't than...well it wouldn't be a god of war game. The story is sadly a climax to Kratos's little saga but it does extremely well to tell it. Unfortunately for some god of war 3 isn't the type of game you can play without having played the first or second, but this usually can define the difference between an epic game or one that just happens to be good by luck and god of war isn't good just by luck.”
