Goal! is a simplistic soccer game that builds upon the sparse library of previously released games in the genre. The inclusion of a three-quarter perspective is the most significant innovation, allowing for a complete view of the pitch, as well as the illusion of three-dimensional space. The higher, angled perspective means players are necessarily smaller, but their proportion to the ball and goals is much more appropriate than in earlier games.
