DESCRIPTION

Glory of Heracles is a Japanese-style console role-playing game featuring characters and adventures inspired by Greek mythology. The game is played from an angled, top-down perspective, with pixel-sprite characters in high detail and background graphics with 3D effects. Players control a group of hero characters in battle. The different heroes must accentuate their strengths and minimize their weaknesses by working as a team. Some special abilities unleash great power, with magical blasts that shake the countryside for miles around. Players follow the adventure of a young boy who mysteriously washes ashore on the island of Crete. The boy seems to have the godlike gift of immortality, as nothing can do him physical harm, but he has no memory of who he is or how he came to be there, alone on the beach. He sets out to learn of his past and seek his future, and he meets other extraordinary heroes to accompany him on his way. The Glory of Heracles games compose a long-running series in Japan, which includes late-1980s releases for the NES-equivalent Famicom console, and sequels for Super Famicom and Game Boy in the early 1990s.
