Eidos resurrects one of gaming's most recognizable brands with Gauntlet for the Nintendo DS. The game's classic hack-and-slash action is once again seen from an overhead view, and as always, players can choose characters from the four uniquely skilled classes of Elf, Warrior, Wizard, and Valkyrie. There are 40 different dungeons spread across three realms, and in classic circular fashion, slicing through hordes of foes allows gamers to earn up to four power moves that can then be used to dispatch even more enemies. Gauntlet makes extensive use of the DS' functionality, using the handheld's Voiceover IP capabilities and microphone to let players chat in real-time, and taking advantage of local wireless and Nintendo Wi-Fi connections to give up to four players the ability to team up in co-op multiplayer mode, or square off in ranked multiplayer games in deathmatch, team deathmatch, and treasure hoard modes. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
