DESCRIPTION

In Gauntlet Legends, you and three others can take control of one of four types of fighters in your quest to defeat Skorne. Each character has advantages over the others. For instance, the axe-wielding Warrior is strong but lacks magical strength. Contrarily, the Wizard excels at magic but doesn't do much damage with his staff. In between these extremes are the speedy Archer and the well-rounded Valkyrie. The heroes will gain experience levels as they defeat enemies, increasing their attributes. Entering your initials and a PIN will enable you to keep your fighter's experience level if you return to play at a later time.

The view of the action is somewhere between overhead and ground level as you fight your way through the Mountain, Forest, Castle, Desert and Desecrated Temple, each level with its own powerful boss. No matter who your fighter may be, you can attack up close or throw your weapon from afar. Use your turbo button to run faster or, if there is enough power on your turbo meter, deliver a devastating blow to all immediate enemies and the habitats that spawned them. Open treasure chests to receive gold, magic or other power-ups, which may also be revealed by destroying barrels. Between levels, use the gold you have gathered to purchase power-ups or to increase your attributes in general. Once you have found all 12 Rune Stones — three in each of the first four levels — you and your comrades will be ready to take on Skorne.
