DESCRIPTION

Firebrand, first introduced in Ghouls 'N Ghosts, headlines another adventure in this NES follow-up to 1990's Gargoyle's Quest on Game Boy. Firebrand must save the Ghoul Realm from a mysterious new enemy, one that threatens the land's magic. Your first task is to explore your surroundings from an overhead perspective, where you'll talk to the residents, purchase items, and discover new areas. Action sequences take place from a side-scrolling viewpoint, as Firebrand flies, scales walls, and launches fireballs. Defeat each area's boss creature to acquire powers allowing you to destroy blocks, climb spikes, regain stamina, and more. Similar to a role-playing game, Firebrand will become more powerful as he progresses, from increased flight time and improved jumping ability to more health. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
